This is a translation. The French version is the authoritative one and prevails if the two differ.
This page describes what data Mimou Corner collects, why, who can see it and how long it is kept. It describes how the site actually works.
1. Data controller
Mimou Corner. The processing of personal data in Morocco is governed by law 09-08 and overseen by the CNDP.
2. What we collect
- Your Google account the identifier Google assigns to your account, your email address and your display name. This is the only way to open an account. We do not receive your Google password and ask for no access to your other Google data.
- Your phone number asked for when you publish or contact a member, so that a buyer can reach you, and confirmed by code where that is possible (see point 3). It is never used to sign you in.
- Optional: a city.
- Your listings: the details of the animal, your text, your photos, the city and — if you allow it — a deliberately imprecise location point, on the order of a neighbourhood, never an address.
- Your messages with other members, and the listings you save.
- Technical logs kept by our servers (IP address, date, page requested), necessary to run the site and to detect abuse.
3. Your number is not public, and you decide who sees it
It appears on no listing, is sent to no visitor, and is available to nobody on the internet. It is shown only to a signed-in member who explicitly asks for it from your listing, and that request is recorded — so we know who asked for what and when, which makes harvesting numbers in bulk detectable.
And you can refuse that too: from your profile you can choose to show your number to nobody. Buyers then reach you only through the site's messages. That setting changes nothing about the fact that your number is never public.
While no SMS operator is in place, a number is stored exactly as you typed it, without being confirmed by code. A listing whose number has not been confirmed does not carry the "verified number" mark.
4. What is public
A listing that is online is visible to everyone, search engines included: the animal, your photos, your text, your display name and the city. Write nothing there that you do not want to be public.
5. Why we use it
To run the site; to check that an account belongs to a real person, which is our barrier against fake accounts; to review listings and detect scams; and to let you contact each other.
6. Who it is shared with
We sell no data and display no advertising. Only the providers the service needs are involved: Google, since signing in goes through it; a host for the site and the photos; and, once an SMS operator is in place, whoever sends your code.
7. How long
- A verification code is valid for ten minutes and is never stored in clear.
- A session expires after thirty days and can be revoked at any time.
- Your listings stay as long as you leave them online; a closed listing is kept for your account history.
- If you close your account it is deactivated and your listings withdrawn. Your messages stay readable by the person you were talking to, so their conversation does not become incomprehensible.
8. Cookies
The site sets one cookie, which remembers the language you chose, and keeps your session in your browser's local storage. No advertising cookie, no tracker, no third-party analytics.
9. Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, object to its processing and ask for your account to be deleted, by writing to us. You can also refer the matter to the CNDP.
